2004 Ford Focus Repair
Asked by MacMorrigan Mar 04, 2011 at 07:22 AM about the 2003 Ford Focus SE Wagon Question type: Maintenance & Repair I'm still having problems with the electrical system of my car. I have had my batter checked under load and my alternator checked Ok out side of my car. I replaced the connection plug to the alternator, and the car ran fine for 3 days and then the same problem accrued. All instruments stopped working, the car sputtered and died and would not restart. This time the Ford dealership that the car was toed to said the alternator was not putting out any power. They checked all the wiring to the alternator and it tested Ok. According to the mechanic that worked on my car the problem is a bad alternator or a bad PCM.
I cannot find any mention of a PCM (Brain, Computer) in the Haynes repair manual. Is the PCM the same thing as the CTM (Central Timing Module) that is t M talked about in the manual? If not where is the PCM located and how do I get it out?

In order to provide thorough, proper training a company must have a vision, the materials & manuals and the personnel to execute the program in it’s entirety.
